Sector focus

Software that holds up in demanding environments.

We work where systems carry operational, regulatory or public responsibility — and where reliability, traceability and integration are not optional.

Software that holds up in demanding environments.

We work in sectors where systems carry operational, regulatory or public responsibility. The common requirement is not novelty. It is reliability, traceability and a clear path to support.

That does not mean every engagement is large or every client is an enterprise. It means the work has consequences, and the technology has to be designed with that in mind. A small case-management platform can be as important as a national programme if it is the system people rely on to do their job.

Our role is to understand the operating reality of the sector, then apply the capabilities that fit. We do not pretend that one industry is the same as another, and we do not arrive with a pre-built answer.

02 Sectors

Six environments where the joins matter.

Each sector page covers the operating reality, the common failure points, the solutions we build and the obligations that shape the design.

03 Common requirements

Different sectors, similar non-negotiables.

Across sectors, the same requirements recur. We design for them from the start rather than treating them as a later hardening exercise.

01

Security

Identity, access, data handling and threat modelling are part of the architecture, not a compliance layer added later.

02

Availability

Resilience, monitoring and recovery are designed around the service level the operation actually requires.

03

Auditability

Decisions, data and system behaviour can be traced and explained to the people accountable for them.

04

Accessibility

Public and staff-facing services are usable by people with diverse needs and assistive technologies.

05

Integration

Clear contracts, failure handling and ownership across the systems that carry the process.

06

Stewardship

Documentation, support and a handover that leaves the organisation able to operate and change the system.

Enter through the constraint, not the catalogue.

We do not begin a sector conversation with a capability presentation. We begin with the operating problem: what has to be true for the service to run, what breaks under pressure and which decision is waiting for evidence.

A short discovery usually covers the process, the systems, the data, the obligations and the people who carry the work. The output is a map of the current state, a target architecture and a first release that can be delivered without betting the whole programme on one assumption.

  • A named operational owner for the problem.
  • Access to the people who perform the work, including exception handling.
  • The systems, data sources and third parties that must be involved.
  • The regulatory, security and procurement constraints that cannot move.
  • An agreed measure of success for the first release.

If the right answer is to fix an integration, replace a single capability or improve support rather than build a new platform, we will say so. The sector page is a starting point for that decision, not a pre-sold solution.

How we decide whether a sector engagement is a fit.

We do not claim to be a specialist in every sector. We bring a system-level capability that transfers across regulated and operational environments, and we combine it with the client’s domain knowledge. The fit depends on whether the problem is one we can responsibly help solve.

We look for an operating owner who can make decisions, access to the people who do the work, and a willingness to examine the current process rather than only the software. We also look for a realistic path to support after launch.

  • A problem with operational or regulatory consequence, not just a cosmetic redesign.
  • An owner who can define success and accept the outcome.
  • Access to the real process, including its exceptions and workarounds.
  • A commitment to documentation, handover and ongoing ownership.

If those conditions are not present, a larger engagement is unlikely to fix them. We would rather start with a small review or discovery and let the evidence decide the next step.

Tell us about the environment you operate in.

We will help you identify the constraints that matter and the smallest useful engagement.
